This pineapple electrolyte drink is smooth and refreshing and only has three ingredients. It’s also AIP, paleo, and whole30!
With the weather warming up, I’m moving away from hot tea to cold drinks! And this is the perfect drink on warm days.
Like my strawberry electrolyte drink, it’s fantastic as a post workout drink, or afternoon pick me up snack, or even a morning smoothie. So really, this drink is great any time!
What you need to make this Pineapple Electrolyte Drink
This recipe only requires three ingredients. That’s it! I mean, does it get any easier?
Coconut Water
This is where the electrolytes are coming from in this recipe!
Electrolytes have many benefits such as regulating fluid levels, the nervous system and muscle function.
And coconut water is a natural source, which is also AIP and whole30 compliant. But you want to make sure you buy one that is pure and simple, with no extra additives.
Frozen Pineapple
Pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain, which is anti-inflammatory and can help improve digestion!
You want to use frozen pineapple for this recipe, since it will create a colder refreshing drink (obviously), but it also contributes to that smoothie vibe!
Collagen
Last but not least, this recipe requires collagen.
Not only does the collagen add some protein, but it also helps with the unique texture of this drink. Kind of like a fluffy light smoothie. Sounds strange, but trust me, it’s really really good!
I always buy grass-fed collagen. Lately I’ve been enjoying Organika collagen but there are several great brands out there!
