Strawberry Electrolyte Drink

This strawberry electrolyte drink only has four ingredients, is easy to whip up and is the perfect choice for after a workout. Plus it’s paleo, whole30 and AIP compliant!

I usually love a good post workout smoothie. But, I’ve been really enjoying this electrolyte drink as of late!

Why I’m loving this electrolyte drink

Strawberry milkshake vibes

It’s kind of in between a drink and a smoothie, but it most definitely has strawberry milkshake vibes. It’s kind of in a category on it’s own – a foamy yet super refreshing, and hydrating drink!

Made with real whole foods

Many electrolyte energy, post work-out drinks include artificial flavours and additives.

This drink is made with four simple good-for-you ingredients:

Coconut Water

Coconut water is abundant in natural electrolytes: potassium, sodium, and manganese. So it’s a great natural way to rehydrate!

Make sure the coconut water you’re using is pure and simply coconut water with no other ingredients.

Frozen Strawberries

You could use fresh strawberries, but frozen obviously creates a cold drink and adds to the foamy/creaminess!

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice also promotes hydration and is an excellent source of vitamin C, AND it aids digestion, woot woot! Plus I add it in because I like the tang!

Collagen Protein

Collagen protein is an excellent addition to any smoothie/drink, especially if you’re having it post workout. It may help speed recovery of muscles and did you know it’s also excellent for the health of skin, hair, and nails?

The collagen protein is what creates that extra foam in this recipe! And i really enjoy the foam for some reason!

You want to make sure to use grass-fed collagen protein. Organika, Great Lakes, Vital Proteins, and Further Food are all great brands!

When to enjoy this electrolyte drink

  • Post workout – helps with hyrdration and may help speed muscle recovery.
  • Warm days when a little extra hydration is needed.
  • OR whenever you need a treat since it a has a strawberry milkshake feel!

  1. 😉 Hi Rebecca

What kind of coconut water do you suggest? Canned or bottled….or does it matter?

    Looking forward to trying it!

  2. Paula Zink

Do you think it would taste just as good with coconut milk?

  3. Had a huge migraine and almost cheated on my AIP to take an electrolyte mix – this recipe saved the day! Migraine gone within 30 min and no cheating! Delicious too!

    • That’s amazing! I am always amazed at the power of electrolytes. So glad you enjoyed this drink too 🙂
